Where can I get Botox®?
What does Botox® do?
Botox® is an FDA approved prescription medication. Neurotoxins like Botox®, Xeomin, and Dysport block certain signals from nerves that would otherwise cause muscles to contract. Once it has taken effect, the relaxation of the muscles prevents you from making the harsh expressions that cause some wrinkles. This temporary relaxation allows the time your skin needs to rest and heal, improving the look of fine lines & wrinkles. Botox® will begin to work a few days after injection, and will reach its full strength in about two weeks. It's important to follow up with your Botox® injector for the 2 week check-in, allowing for any touch ups that you may want. Botox® results wear off in about 3-4 months time.
How long does an appointment take?
Depending on which areas you'd like to treat, a typical appointment can be anywhere from 5-30 minutes long. I am here to answer your questions, discuss your treatment plan, and make your experience as pain-free and simple as possible. Obviously, the more areas you'd like treated, the more time we will need. I always recommend booking a consultation if you're just starting your journey with Botox®, or if it's your first time seeing me in the office!
Is there any down time after injections?
Not really. Many of my clients return to work after their appointments. You must avoid certain activities for a few hours after the procedure, such as wearing a hat or anything tight to the treated areas. Don't rub the injection sites as you could spread the dosage and alter your results! You should avoid bending over for an extended period of time and strenuous exercise for at least 4 hours after injection. You can start to "exercise" the treated area gently after 2-3 hours. Alcohol consumption the day before or after injection may increase your risk of bruising.
What's the difference between botox and fillers?

- muscle relaxant that prevents extreme facial expressions which repeated over time cause wrinkles
- ideal for reduction of wrinkles between the brows and on the forehead
- no additional volume added, & results can last from 3-5 months
Fillers:

- ideal for folds and wrinkles that are not affected by muscle movement
